I just love to paint and draw cows, but that is really another story …. When I do paint them, they themselves create such a special and unique character, human in a way! So during painting I try to find out, who they could be or who they are.
This cow I baptized „Nymph 10“. It is an allusion to Io, a nymph that was the inamorata of Zeus. To hide her, when his wife Hera came, Zeus converted her into a cow. Hera, of course, did recognized it and demanded this cow from Zeus as a gift, a sign of love. He gave this cow to her and she put it into her stable and the giant Argus guarded her with his 100 eyes. While a few of them were sleeping the rest of the eyes was always awake.
The original is quite big, 150×200 cm, but the print you can see here on my piano is just 37×49 cm. It is the no. 1 of 7 pieces. Usually it does cost 240 €, but here you can purchase it for 180 €. So take your chance and have a great and cowful day.
